The Masterclass “AI for SMEs: Germany and India Together Toward the Future of Industrial AI,” organized by the BVMW in collaboration with NASSCOM, the leading association of the Indian IT and digital economy, is specifically aimed at German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that wish to explore concrete application and collaboration opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence. The focus is on practical insights into industrial use cases that demonstrate how AI can already be used productively today in manufacturing, processes, and value chains.

The masterclass is also part of an industry networking event marking the official launch of the “AI for Mittelstand” working group as part of the German-Indian Digital Dialogues, combining strategic discussions with concrete business development opportunities. Participants will gain direct access to selected Indian technology companies with proven expertise in scalable AI solutions and will have the opportunity to discuss concrete approaches for implementation within their own companies. The event is designed to be interactive and combines concise presentations with targeted discussions to develop concrete cooperation strategies from ideas.

The event will be attended by high-ranking political figures, including Karsten Wildberger, Federal Minister for Digitalization and State Modernization (BMDS), and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), whose presence underscores the strategic importance of German-Indian cooperation in the field of AI. Another key component is the signing of an expanded Memorandum of Understanding between BVMW and NASSCOM, which lays the foundation for long-term, practice-oriented cooperation in the area of “AI for Mittelstand.”

For German SMEs, the masterclass thus offers a concrete opportunity to gain a practical understanding of AI applications, meet international innovation partners, and gain new insights to boost their own competitiveness.
